Cathay Pacific announces UK-Asia flash sale

With the Year of the Dog biting at our heels, Cathay Pacific are launching a four-day flash sale between the UK and Asia, and beyond to celebrate Chinese New Year.

The airline is offering the following routes in the flash sale – with the majority of the routes offering discounts in Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class (except for Hong Kong – which isn’t included in the Business Class sale):

  • Australia – Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney
  • Cambodia – Phnom Penh, Siem Reap
  • Hong Kong – Hong Kong
  • Indonesia – Bali (Depansar), Jakarta, Surabaya
  • Japan – Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka, Okinawa, Sapporo, Tokyo
  • Mainland China – Beijing, Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Guilin, Fuzhou, Haikou, Hangzhou, Kunming, Nanijng, Nanning, Ningbo, Qingdao, Sanya, Shanghai, Wenzhou, Wuhan,
  • Xiamen, Xi’an, Zhengzhou
  • Malaysia – Kuala Lumpur, Penang
  • Myanmar – Yangon
  • Philippines – Cebu, Clark/Angeles City, Manila
  • Singapore
  • South Korea – Seoul, Busan, Jeju Island
  • Taiwan – Kaohsiung, Taichung, Taipei
  • Thailand – Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket
  • Vietnam – Da Nang, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City

Lead-in prices vary depending on your destination – starting at £469 in economy and £849 in Premium. Sample prices from Cathay Pacific below

Note: £30 excess applies to departures from Heathrow that do not terminate at Hong Kong

The fares are offered for travel on various dates. For Economy/Premium Economy, these dates are limited to 10 April 2018 to 19 June 2018,  21 August 2018 to 30 September 2018 and 1 November 2018 – 6 December 2018.

Business Class passengers can travel on these discounted fares between 1 June 2018 – 31 December 2018. A £30 excess applies for departures from London Heathrow (except to Hong Kong).

If you want to take advantage of these fares, you’ve got until the 18th February.

I have a very soft spot for Cathay Pacific and their business class product aboard a Boeing 777-300ER (it was certainly one of the travel highlights for me in 2015). You can read about the Dusseldorf to Hong Kong flight here and Hong Kong to London flight here.

Whilst the fare may not be the cheapest out there (with Air China offer some blinding fares to Australia at the moment), for a quality option without a stop in the Middle East) – these could prove really useful fares if they work in your schedules.
