AIX18: KLM sign with JAMCO for new World Business Class seat

10/04/2018 by Kevincm

From the sidelines of AIX 2018, KLM has announced it will be using the JAMACO Venture Business Class seat in its Boeing 787-10 aircraft.

These will be branded as World Business Class seats.

According to KLM, this new seat will be lighter than previous seats – thus reducing the fuel to lift them in the sky.

The Venture seat will be deployed in a wishbone configuration to ensure the most efficient use of space.

Boet Kreiken, EVP Customer Experience on the purchase states:

KLM is delighted to be working with JAMCO on this brand-new 787-10 World Business Class seat programme. Together, we are striving to create the best possible seating, sleeping comfort,  and travel environment for our business-class customers.

These seats will be appearing in the near future – with the KLM to receive the its first 787-10 in June 2019 with 38 seats per aircraft. The airline operates the Zodiac Cirrus seat on it’s Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

The seat will offer full-flat recline and an 18.5-inch entertainment screen, along with a ““Do not disturb” button on the armrest (passenger controlled). Middle seats will have a partition too. All seats will have aisle access.

The new seats will be KLM-branded, based on a design created in cooperation with Hella Jongerius.
