Lift by Encore’s 737 Tourist Class Seat – The right fit?

15/05/2018 by Kevincm

I’ve focused a lot at Economy class seats in my look at Aircraft Interiors Expo. Mainly, as these are seats that then majority of passengers use. And there’s good reason as Seat manufacturers design new seats that can try to improve the passenger experience (and I’m going to be blunt – some of the seats that have come out are downright awful… and are flying today).

The new generation of seats whilst lightweight, actually have some interesting features – such as the Lift by Encore Seats – and in this case – the 737 Tourist Class seat.

The seat was revealed two years ago, and from last year – had active orders and deliveries to airlines.

Lift by Encore have worked with Boeing to deliver a Buyer Furnished Equipment Seat that could be delivered in time.

One of the issues that exist with equipment is suppliers have a habit of delaying deliveries of seats. This has a knock-on effect of delayed deliveries and parked aircraft. Therefore BFE kit therefore gives a good option to airlines that need seats.

So, onto the 737 tourist class seat. As usual, it’s a customisatable slimline seat. The seat itself reclines – which considering some in the market are targeting non-reclining seats is an interesting move.

The seat for a new generation seat – actually reclines.

In terms of recline – There’s space there – and for airlines these days who are hell-bent on maximising very cubic centimetre on a plane, that space will become precious. The seat is shown here is pitched at 29” (the seemingly new definition of Economy class comfort) – with reasonable leg room.

In terms of comfort – the Seat is comfortable – even if it designed to fit a Boeing-sized fuselage. And that as regular reader know makes a difference in shoulder-room and seat-pan stakes

The seat is deliverable with with a fixed headrest (the front row) or adjustable ones (in the back row).

One of the nice features that can be added is a feature bar – that allows way integration of USB and mains power into the product.  This is done using an optional “power bar” element.

The seat back can also be delivered signs PED holder or an IFE option if the customer request it.

Lift by Encore offers a product that for some airlines – makes a very good mix already LOT Polish Airlines and SpiceJet have taken delivery of the seats and have them in a live flight situation.

For some Boeing customers who have been let down because their seats didn’t arrive to be line-fitted to a plane, going to Lift by Encore could be the solution they need.

Economy Class and Beyond was an invited guest of Encore by Lift to their stand.

We’re continuing look back at Aircraft Interiors Expo with things that caught my eye – or things that deserves more than the cursory quick post from the floor of the exhibition
