Acro Seating announces first delivery the Series 7 Seat with Primera Air

17/05/2018 by Kevincm

Acro Aircraft Seating has formally announced that Primera Air have taken delivery and fitted the first Acro Series 7 seats to the Primera Airbus A321neo fleet.

The first delivery has been completed, with the Series 7 Seat – a Premium Economy product. Four rows of Series 7 seats will be installed on the fleet of eight Airbus A321neo aircraft – a total of 16 seats per shipset.

The eight aircraft are due for delivery during 2018, and will have Acro’s Series 7 in the front, and the Series 6 seat in the rest of the plane.

Acro invited Factorydesign to help define the architecture, packaging and design features of Series 7, which aims to give passengers maximum space and comfort experience.

On the launch, Alan McInnes, Senior Vice President Sales of Acro states:

“This is an exciting first for us, where we have supplied both the Economy and Premium seats on the one aircraft. The achievement was possible through the investment in our staff and product development, we’re reaching new heights in our capabilities for comfort innovation.”

I checked out the seats at Aircraft Interiors Expo along with my first impressions (and launch information), and was pretty impressed with the design of the seats, (least of all the curved back that will give more legroom, and most of all the accessibility this seat gives).

The combination of Series 7 and Series 6 seats for a two-class configuration make a good mix, with a consistent design in the plane – and should offer some comfort on the transatlantic legs these planes will fly.
