It’s coming up to the late bank holiday in the United Kingdom. And we all know what that means… time for some more engineering work on the UK Rail infrastructure.
Let’s check on the London Airports first.
Heathrow Express
A normal service is expected to run
TfL Rail (ex-Heathrow Connect)
A normal service is expected to run
Gatwick Express/Southern/ThamesLink
All times have changed (and delays are still ongoing).
- Saturday 26 May – A normal service will run.
- Sunday 27 May- Buses replace trains between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport until 07:30 on Gatwick Express, Until 07:00, buses replace trains between London Victoria and London Bridge / Clapham Junction and between Clapham Junction and East Croydon on Southern,
- Monday 28 May – A Saturday service will be in operation
Stansted Express
- Saturday 26 May – A normal service will run.
- Sunday 27 May – Trains will divert via Seven Sisters, not calling at Tottenham Hale.
- Monday 28 May – A normal service will run.
It wouldn’t be a Bank Holiday without some major bits of the network closed, including:
- London to Ingatestone on the Great Eastern Main Line (with bus and tube replacements)
- Major engineering works between Coventry and Birmingham New Street (in the junctions south of New Street). This will affect you if you are flying in and out of Birmingham Airport.
- Swindon Station closed through the bank holiday
- Oxenholme to Glasgow Central on the West Coast Main Line.
As usual – check National Rail enquiries way before you travel.
