Travelling in Economy Class – has one benefit normally – the impact on your wallet. British Airways is launching a promotion for half of the Avios needed compared to normal redemption rates on 90 routes.

These routes are in the long haul destinations that the airline operates.
You will need to book by the 17th June 2018, for travel between 1st September 2018 through to 31st May 2019.
The promotion is valid only in World Traveller (economy class).
Here’s a table of some routes and prices
It goes without saying that some routes will be capacity constrained, and may not show any seats at all – it’s even listed in the terms and conditions…
“Reward flights are strictly subject to availability which may be very limited or not available at all on some routes including Sydney, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, San Jose (Costa Rica), Grenada, Cancun, Lima and Male”
Note, that whilst the amount of Avios is halved, the taxes, fees and surcharges still remain the same.
Launching the sale – James Hillier from the British Airways Executive Club, states
“Our Executive Club Members appreciate a range of ways to collect and spend Avios so it’s great to be launching this promotion which makes reward flights even more accessible. This means that customers can go sandboarding in Dubai, spot stars in Los Angeles or visit Singapore’s Orchard Road for half the number of Avios normally required.”
Full terms and conditions are at ba.com/reward-flight-sale.
With a sale like this, there is value to be had. However, check against the value of the cash fare before splashing out the Avios. You might find the cash fare is better value per penny vs using Avios on them.
