A year or so ago, I went to an event – Dounuts on the Mound in Dublin. Today was the second batch.
And there were some damn good donuts.
Donuts, Sun and Planes. What more do you want?
And there were plenty of planes (including a couple of go-arounds)
And a return to the airport
This United 777 didn’t really want to go to Newark the first time.
as well as local traffic
But most of all today – was about the community we have, a frequent flyers, as AVGeeks, as friendships. And knowing whilst sometimes we might have our differences, our own thoughts and opinions. But what unites us in this hobby – the thing that brings us together – are the lumps of metal, carbon fibre, seats, fabrics, and plastics.
Be it painted in white, green and white, or any other colour.
What everyone else calls aeroplanes. What we call a hobby.
And from that – good friendship that go beyond the Internet and into the real world.
My thanks to those who organised Donuts on the Mound 2: It was a great day and worthy to be one of the events that I enjoy so much. Not just for the planes – but for the people

Lovely sentiment Kevin.
Another great day out and it was a pleasure hooking up with you and the others again.
