It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more Airplane Art.
This week, coming to the gate at New York JFK International is a Qantas Boeing 747-400 completing the long Sydney to New York JFK service, operating via Los Angeles International.
Until recently, the Sydney – Los Angeles – New York JFK route was operated by the venerable Boeing 747-400. This changed on Saturday 1st September 2018, where plane has been swapped from the 747 to the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
The airline retains four Boeing 747-400s and six Boeing 747-400ER aircraft in its long haul fleet, with the type due to be retired from the Qantas fleet by 2020.
These will be replaced by more Boeing 787-9 Dreamlier aircraft.
More Airplane art next week!
