Boarding
Boarding of Lufthansa 424 from Gate L28/30 at Munich Airport. US clearance checks were carried out before entering the boarding zone.
The Plane
It’s a Lufthansa Airbus A350-900, powered by twin Rolls Royce Trent XWB engines.
The seat
I was in the middle seat of premium economy in the bulkhead row. The seat is by ZIM Flugsits with around 18″ of seat width. Seats are laid out in a 2-3-2 layout in three rows. These are divided from the other cabins with a bulkhead at the front, and a plastic divder at the back
In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity
In-flight Entertainment is offered by a Panasonic ex3 system, which also has onward connectivity to personal hardware via Bluetooth (if you can ever get the right app).
Connectivity is provided by a Panasonic Ku system, powered by T-Mobile.
In addition, the Flying Lab content was broadcast using the Lufthansa BoardConnect system.
The Lufthansa flying Lab in flight – lead by Olivier Krueger CEO Lufthansa Systems and Joe Leader, Chief Executive Officer Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX). You can check out more of the Flying Lab here
Food and Beverages
A departure snack, lunch and a pre-arrival snack were offered.
Arrival
Arrival was delayed into Boston Logan Terminal E, with the plane taking a circuitous route to the airport.
The views
Not many as I was in a middle seat… but a few I grabbed on the way…
