The new concept is snazzily called “Europe Business Class (EBC) Box.”
The service element will be split in two depending on the time of day you fly.
- Flights before Midday, the airline will serve s a box containing a breakfast with fresh fruit and cold cuts consisting of cheese and meat with a hot roll
- At all other times, Box will contain a salad and side dishes including a slice of apple pie
The meal boxes will have more individual elements to them. allowing passengers to customise their meal as they like.
In addition, on the longest routes – the airline will offer a “dine on demand” service, where Business Class customers can determine when they would ilike the boxes served to them. This will be offered on routes to Cagliari, Helsinki, Ibiza, Porto, Split and Valencia. A second service will be offered, consisting of a Dutch croquette snack or a spinach-and-feta pastry on these longer legs.
On the launch, Laslo Zimonyi, Product & Supplies Manager KLM Cityhopper stated that
“Customers boarding our aircraft look forward to being served a good, varied and tasty meal. For this reason, we will now be offering them the revitalised EBC Box.”
The new meals will be flying from the 28th October 2018, and served aboard KLM’s CityHopper fleet of 32 E190s and 17 E175 aircraft.
