It’s time for another snapshot – this time focusing on American Airlines 99 between London Heathrow to Chicago O’Hare International.

Pre-Boarding
Check in was open at 5:20 in the morning. Baggage was accepted via premium check in, with tags and a boarding pass
Heathrow FastTrack security was just that – taking 5 minutes to clear from start to finish.
Lounges visited
Both the Cathay Pacific and American Airlines lounges were visited.
Cathay Pacific Business Class Lounge
Boarding
Boarding was from gate 328. I was cleared to board immediately as the boarding group had already been called.
The Plane
It’s a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner
There’s a story about overzealous security agents here… but that’s beside the point and for another time.
The Seat
It’s the 9 across seat that is used in the Boeing 787 fleet.
In-flight Entertainment
IFE is provisioned by a Panasonic ex3 system. Live TV was offered through the IFE system
Connectivity
Panasonic Ku services are offered on the plane. And woefully slow.
Food and beverages
A breakfast service and a pre-arrivals hot snack were offered. As well as ice cream.
Arrival
Arrival was on-time at Chicago O’Hare Terminal 5
The views
There was a lot Dreamliner blue, as well as some stunning sunrises
