Transfer was within Helsinki Terminal 2 complex. No further security checks were carried out.
The Finnair Non-Schegen Lounge was used. Sadly, the Premium Lounge was shut for rebuilding works.
Boarding was from the Gate 50 Complex at Helsinki. This complex handles bussing between the gate and planes, and is divided 12 sub-gates.
It’s an Airbus A321 with Sharklets
The cabin is laid out a 2-2 Eurobusiness style layout in the front of the plane, and a 3-3 standard configuration. The seat is based on the Recaro BL3510.
Food and Drink
Food was available for purchase as a buy-on-board or order ahead option. Tea, Coffee, Water and Blueberry Juice were offered in flight free of charge (with re-fills offered too)
Free papers and content was available on the Nordic Sky Portal. No on-board screens were installed.
Connectivity was offered by the Finnair Nordic Sky Portal, with the backbone provided by Viasat. Connectivity maps were provided by airline – including dead zones.
The plane arrived at Heathrow Termnal 3 to allow passengers to depart. There was a short delay whilst chocks were found to secure the aircraft.
The full trip report on Finnair 1335 will be out soon as part of the “Long way home – Autumn travel to Chicago” trip report.
