Qatar Airways up-gauges Frankfurt route to A380 operations

21/11/2018 by Kevincm

It seems Frankfurt is still a busy destination for Qatar Airways – busy enough for the airline to covert one of its daily operations to use an Airbus A380.

The airline will be converting its  QR067/068 pair (operating the morning Doha-Frankfurt / evening Frankfurt-Doha service) from a Boeing 777-300ER to the double-decker A380 from the 31st March 2018

The revised timetable looks a little like this:

QR069 DEPART DOH 01:35 ARRIVE FRA 07:10 Boeing 777-300ER
QR067 DEPART DOH 08:05 ARRIVE FRA 13:40 Airbus A380

QR070 DEPART FRA 10:55 ARRIVE DOH 17:55 Boeing 777-300ER
QR068 DEPART FRA 17:35 ARRIVE DOH 00:35+1 Airbus A380D

Commences 31st March 2019
QR67/68 uses an Airbus A380
QR69/70 will continue to use a Boeing 777-300ER

As well as the capacity uplift, there will be a comfort improvement in Economy Class, with wider seats than the currently operated plane on the service, as well as a full three-class service (offering First, Business and Economy class).

The change is loaded in the Qatar Airways engine, and available for booking – with first class showing as bookable.

For those on award travel, this should provide some interesting options. Similarly, those who are paying will appreciate the option of a higher class of travel if you need it.

And for those in economy – well, the extra seat width in economy class is always worth it.
