A simple #PaxEx Improvement – Travel Authorisation consoles

17/12/2018 by Kevincm

I know a lot of us are well organised, and plan ahead – and by that we do a little research, and ensure we have Visas or Travel Waivers all in hand.

But there is a small sub-set of passengers who do forget these things.

Now, filling in such a form is stressful enough – but forgetting about it until you get to the airport can add to the stress. However, on my travels around Brussels Airport – I saw a little console that could help out – one that you can complete a travel authorisation with.

The console allows you to complete:

  • United States off America  ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) –
  • Canadian ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization)
  • Australian ETA (for citizens of Brunei, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, United States
  • Australia eVisitor (for all other countries)

Whilst in some cases, not completing authorisation in time can lead to you getting boarding denied (such as the USA – who have this lovely warning:

However, there are cases where a travel authorisation can be processed quickly enough so you make your flight.

And if you’ve left until the last possible minute – a console like this could get you out of a lot of pain.

Passenger Experience improvements in small ways

It’s a friendly passenger experience touch-point at an airport when stresses will be at their most if you’ve forgotten to do your paperwork.

And top marks to Brussels Airport for thinking that one step ahead

But try to remember to fill in your waivers before you travel please…
