Brussels Airlines to be hit by Belgian National Strike – Most services cancelled on 13th February

11/02/2019 by Kevincm

With the National Strike occurring on the 13th February, Brussels Airlines is well and truly caught up – with the airline virtually scrubbing its entire operation for the day.

The entire timetable has been dropped –  save Brussels Airlines that operate from the African and North-American continent on February 13th, with a scheduled arrival at Brussels Airport on Thursday, February 14th.

The airline argues:

With the proactive cancellation of its flight program of February 13th, Brussels Airlines offers its guests the possibility to adapt their travel plans in advance and herewith minimizes the level of disruption and discomfort generated by the national strike as much as possible.

This is the remains of the Brussels Airlines Timetable

  • SN1278 Lomé – Accra
  • SN1278 Accra – Brussels
  • SN1482 Toronto – Brussels
  • SN1465 Kigali – Entebbe
  • SN1465 Entebbe – Brussels
  • SN1202 Dakar – Brussels
  • SN1300 Cotonou – Abidjan
  • SN1300 Abidjan – Brussels
  • SN1224 Conakry – Banjul
  • SN1224 Banjul – Brussels
  • SN1372 Yaoundé – Douala
  • SN1372 Douala – Brussels

If you need to rebook, you’ll need to contact Brussels Airlines via its telephone and social media outlets:

Refunds are also being offered – head to www.brusselsairlines.com/refund

Not an easy thing to do

This isn’t going to be easy for Brussels Airlines in the least to take a one-day hit like this. Apart from the lost revenue, crews will be out of position – which could lead to knock on delays on the 14th. For passengers, travelling in Belgium is looking to be a lost cause on the 13th February.

If you were connecting through Belgium to another country – it might be worth seeing if you can be re-routed on another Lufthansa family carrier.

But don’t get your hopes up for travelling on the 13th right now.
