AIX19: Acro launches Series 6LC seat

01/04/2019 by Kevincm

Acro Seating are kicking off their Aircraft Interiors Expo with the launch of their new Series 6 variant seat – the Series 6LC

The Series 6LC is an economy class seat, targeted at low-cost carriers. The seats are designed with minimalist design aesthetic and reduced part count, whilst also enhancing comfort with Acro’s innovative curved seat back design which unlocks space at knee level.

The 6LC will feature a pre-reclined fixed back, with an upper literature pocket, sliding table and lightweight armrests. The seats can be configured with options such as include seat covers, crew step, lower literature pocket and USB A or USB C.

The Acro Series 6LC has secured its first customer – a “Major low-cost” carrier, who will launch the seat – with the customer to be announced.

In Quotes

Alan McInnes, SVP Sales said:

“Series 6LC is another example of Acro’s commitment to achieving an attractive seating solution for our airline customers, especially the hard working narrowbody fleets of regional or low-cost carriers. We have strived to achieve a lightweight seat and reduce complexity with fewer moving parts. Not forgetting, thecomfort enhancements associated with Acro’s Extra-spatial Design philosophy.”

“In an Airbus A320 family configuration, our innovative Xtra Comfort feature offers extra width to the middle seat, resulting in significant improvements in passenger comfort in what is generally viewed as the least popular seat in the row. Our overall seat widths also optimise cabin operations by achieving a wider aisle for faster loading and unloading of passengers.”

And it’s on my visit list

I’ll be visiting Acro Aerospace to see this in person. As airlines look towards reducing costs whilst trying to increase comfort, there is plenty of room for innovation in the low-cost carrier segment.

And there is room for a lot more premium configuration – even in with a low-cost carrier.
