At Aircraft Interiors Expo, it was announced the American Airlines will be operating their first Airbus A321neo today configured with the Airspace XL Overhead bins.
With a promised 37% volume increase for luggage storage – and 60% if you store your bags on the side, it gives a chance for nearly every cabin bag to be loaded on a plane.
The XL Bin is part of the Airpsace by Airbus product line, with the first plane equipped with this flying between Phoenix Sky Harbour and Orlando today (2nd April 2019). The plane will feature full LED Wiring and Wireless IFE .
American Airlines will be retrofitting 200 aircraft with these overhead bins, with 100 to be delivered with the overhead bin line-fitted from the factory.
