Amongst some of the writing community who descend on Aircraft Interiors Expo, there is a thing that we call “The Curse of AIX“, which applies to us either travelling to or from the exhibition
It started jokingly – but it’s turning more and more real each year.
It varies forgetting a passport, people delayed, or stuck in airports over night, rerouted, broken luggage and so on, we’ve all have been hit one way or another, the curse is a strong one this year for me:
– .
To quote Radiohead “But I’m a creep, I’m a weirdo. What the hell am I doing here? I don’t belong here.
So I got a triple dose of the Curse of AIX this year
- The re-flighted baggage saga. (and it’s conclusion)
- The inbound flight from Hamburg was delayed by a good hour and 30 minutes…
- Which lead me to miss my coach and National Express being a bunch of <advertiser friendly content words that won’t get me kicked off>, and refusing to re-issue my ticket, but to sell me a brand new ticket for £35.
I was actually going to say <advertiser friendly content words that won’t get me kicked off> and get a hotel for a night.
But as in the aviation industry and in the real world – I have friends.
Friends that are made enough to make the journey down from the Midlands, pick me up, and drive all the way back.
And right now, I can only be thankful for them to get me out of a crappy spot that British Airways put me in.
Right now – I just feel drained.
