It’s time for another snapshot – this time looking at the hotel experience at the Ibis Budget St Pauli.
For those of you who are new to the blog:
- Trip Reports – These are full deep-dive reports taking you into the experience and the small things… as well as the big things!
- Snapshots – These are bite-sized reviews that show you the basic product in some nice gentle headlines (and normally, only images shot on the phone)
Location
The Ibis Budget is located a short walk away from the U3 U Bahn station. It’s across the road from the Dom entertainment park and parallels the Reeperbahn.
Check-in
The check-in process was handled quickly and efficiently. With the room pre-paid, keys were issued.
The room
This is the classic ibis budget room. This variant has a double bed, a bunk bed rated for 100kg,
There’s also a small television with a selection of cable, local and international channels
There’s also a toilet and a shower in the room.
Plugs were located near the TV and besides the bed.
Breakfast
Not booked. Well it’s hard to take advantage of when you’ve got 7:30 and 8am meetings.. and getting up 20 minutes beforehand
Additional services
The hotel kindly handled the arrival of my suitcase that British Airways kindly re-flighted and sent on a separate flight. This arrived on my second nights stay.
There is also vending at the hotel in the form of vending machines, a pizza service, and interestingly, Fanta being held behind the counter.
Checkout
Checkout was a matter of dropping a key card in a bowl. With that, I was on my way.
