Snapshot: British Airways 967 Hamburg to London (Club Europe/Business Class)

13/04/2019 by Kevincm

It’s time to look at the passenger experience again, this time focusing on British Airways 967 between Hamburg Airport and London Heathrow.

For those of you who are new to the blog:

  • Trip Reports – These are full deep-dive reports taking you into the experience and the small things… as well as the big things!
  • Snapshots – These are bite-sized reviews that show you the basic product in some nice gentle headlines (and normally, only images shot on the phone)

Check-in

Check-in was conducted at Terminal 2 of Hamburg Airport, with British Airways using row 9 for check-in. The process was rather slow due to the sheer volume of people, checking in of luggage which was compounded with a delayed inbound flight.

Security was nothing short of a hot mess, with queues taking time to process (both fast track and normal queues), and the security teams taking “extra care” over bags that were packed a bit tighter than normal.

Lounge

The Hamburg Airport Common Lounge was utilised.

Boarding

Boarding and departure were delayed by an hour due to an issue with oxygen bottles in the cockpit at Heathrow Airport.

Boarding was from Gate B47, in the Non-Schengen Zone of Hamburg Airport

The plane

Once again, it’s a British Airways Airbus A319 doing the heavy lift between Hamburg and Heathrow.

The Seat

Once again, it’s a Collins Aerospace Pinnacle Seat, in a EuroBusiness configuration. The middle seat had a table installed.

Apart from the map, none.

Food and drink

A choice of salads was offered – either a chicken one or a vegetable coccus. A full bar service was offered.

Arrivals

The plane landed an hour and 30 minutes late at Heathrow Airport. It docked at the B gates, requiring a transfer to the main terminal.

Luggage delivery

Luggage delivery was reasonably quick, with both bags appearing by 21:50 – 25 minutes after landing.
