Royal Jordanian President & CEO Stefan Pichler said:
“We’re continually enhancing our passenger services across all touch points – and Bluebox Wow enables us to do that by delivering wireless IFE to passengers’ own devices. It is both a cost-effective and quick way of modernising the IFE on part of our medium- and short- haul fleet, and with Bluebox’s commitment to continually invest in new capabilities, we know that as the technology advances, so will our ability to deliver even more for our passengers.”
Kevin Clark, CEO, Bluebox said
“We are delighted that Royal Jordanian has chosen Bluebox Wow,”
“Both the technological innovation and the deployment model of Bluebox Wow make Royal Jordanian and its fleet of A319s and A320s a natural fit for Bluebox Wow – a solution that engages passengers with a variety of IFE content and offers airlines a flexible solution to the upgrade/retrofit question.”
Plugging an IFE gap.
Whilst some passengers are more than content to fall asleep, read or consume their own content on a plane, the narrowbody market is one where airlines sometimes struggle to define what IFE solution (if any) they choose to deploy. Some may go down the line of Wi-Fi. Others will install screens, whilst some may not install anything at all.
As airlines seek to draw passengers further into the cabin experience, wireless IFE can represent a reasonable way of introducing entertainment into the cabin, whilst controlling the deployment costs.
BlueBox is showing they can help in this, with forty customers so far – including some that have chosen the accessibility product (A-IFE) to enable IFE access for all.

With weight a constant issue in commercial aviation, I can see airlines leaving the wired seat w/screens completely. Do you know what the weight comparison from a blue box set up vs. a wired, seat back instal comes to? It has to be crazy more money too.- and with a wireless set up there is the elimination of those pesky under seat boxes everyone hates.
