Etihad has some rather reasonable business class fares out of London for the long haul traveller who doesn’t mind a stop in Abu Dhabi.

Note, that in my limited experiments getting this fare to work with Multi-city is a challenge (with the fare only pricing up when doing “direct” return tickets with a short stop in Abu Dhabi) – therefore getting to work with the free Abu Dhabi stopover offer may not work.
It’s not the greatest return fare in the world – but it does offer a reasonable price for those who wish to travel in the summer and have a simple departure point of London Heathrow to get to – combined with Etihads on-board product.
