It seems that those of you who are waiting for the new CDG Express service connecting central Paris to Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport to turn up are going to have to wait a bit longer – with an announcement the project is going to be delayed

The CDG Express Rail link will connect Paris Gare L’Est to Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport – the main aviation gateway into France.
It was hoped this service would be up and running by 2024 – in time for the Paris Olympics – however, the new date that Hello Paris is quoting pushes entry into service back to end of 2025/beginning of 20206.
The planned route will use 32km of existing track, and 8km of new track.
However, the works could have caused severe disruption to users in North Paris according to International Rail Journal (along with a lot of other works)- necessitating the delay of the service.
For now, passengers will have to rely on the RER Line B between Paris Gare du Nord and Charles De Gaulle until progress can be made on the new line.
On the plus side, at least the RER B will only set you back €10.30… compared to the proposed €24 to use the CDG Express.
