Good evening from Economy Class and Beyond towers, where I’ve had my annual dose of sunburn and Tayto brand crisps.
As well as as many Aer Lingus and Ryanair aircraft.
So as you can guess – I’ve over in Dublin for a day for one of the #avgeek events I love – Donuts on the Mound.
And Mr Tayto. Always good to have some Mr Tayto.
It’s a fly-in event hosted by a few people in the Dublin area – with the aim to catch up, meet new people and celebrate the community getting together. Along with enjoying some donuts too. Because donuts are an acceptable way to spend time with people too.

And of course, watching aeroplanes take off and land.
Out of the camera phone. There’s about 100Gb to sort out on an SD Card when I get a few hours….
Or diverted.

And it’s these chances to connect with other in person I love – a chance to pick learn about others flying habits, their preferences, their issues and their pleasures – and to share information.
Over the past few years, its turned form a fly-in to an event that showcases one of the best things about the #avgeek community. A friendship, and a love of aeroplanes.
I for one can’t wait till next year when hopefully, we will be on a mount near Dublin Airport and watching planes.
And enjoying donuts.
