New competition
The Kuwait-London pair is currently contested by Kuwait airways and British Airways who both operate to London Heathrow (with of course a lot of one-stop options in between). However, it is a new challenge, which opens up a lot of one stop options in the region for those who are happy to cut a cost here and there.
And more importantly, it shows the way to other low-cost carriers the way if they want to look at operating services to Europe from the Middle East.
