Malaysia Airlines are offering a Fastrack to Gold offer – giving you the equivalent of oneworld Sapphire in four flights.
Malaysia Airlines Airbus A330-300 at Kuala Lumpar International Airport – Image, Economy Class and Beyond.
There are – of course – a fair few conditions to be met – the first being you’ll need to be doing this in Malaysia Airlines business class cabins, and need to originate from London
In addition, you’ll need to check the fare codes.
- Passengers travelling from London to Australia or New Zealand if their ticket is coded J, C, D or Z (Business Class) F, A or P (Business Suite)
- Passengers travelling from London to Southeast Asia e if their ticket is coded J, C or D (Business Class) F or A (Business Suite).
If you’re Enrich Blue or Silver, you’ll jump to Gold status. If you’re an Enrich Gold or Platinum member already, if you take part in this promotion, you will receive 50,000 elite miles.
There is a rather tight booking deadline if you want to take advantage of this offer- with booking needed to be completed by 16th September 2019, for travel up until 30th July 2020.

Is it worth it?
It depends. The fare buckets could make Australia and New Zealand tempting, with getting oneworld Sapphire for the year in a single set of flights without breaking into a sweat – especially as you can take advantage of non-flexible business class tickets.
Certainly, for South East Asia, the proposition is a lot different as the cheaper fare tickets are not valid on this promotion and requires flexible fares – which by their nature are not cheap.
As usual – choosing a frequent flyer programme to earn and redeem in is a very personal choice and this has to be taken into the equation.
If you’re in Europe, you may want to consider earning on British Airways Executive Club, and earning Tier Points using a Qatar Airways flight from Scandinavia (normally – a much better value, if not a time-efficient option) along with four cheap short-haul flights.
However, for four flights and done option – it could be a useful status to have.
Just ensure you’re not overpaying for it with this offer.
