British Airways refreshes its Milan-Linate Lounge

29/10/2019 by Kevincm

It seems British Airways is continuing with its lounge refresh programme, with the lounge at Milan-Linate being reopened.

The airline promises a brighter environment with new seating and powered hub tables in the new office layout to provide the perfect working conditions, while those who want to make the most of their downtime can enjoy enhanced dining options including the introduction of hot dishes in the refurbished dining area.

For those who want to relax, British-made Boss armchairs, specifically designed for British Airways, are complemented by relaxing, decorative lighting by UK based Tyson lighting. Adapting the lounge design to the location, high-quality Italian finishes are used, including terrazzo stone flooring and Carrara marble.

Carolina Martinoli, British Airways’ Director of Brand and Customer Experience, said

“We know the difference our lounges make to our customers, be they travelling on business or for pleasure, so we have ensured that the upgraded lounge in Linate is a calm, comfortable and attractive space where they can make use of the wi-fi and enjoy complimentary catering to get their journey off to the best start.”

More upgrades – but it’s for eligible passengers only…

The lounge in Milan-Linate follows the refit of the New York-JFK lounge as well as the new San Francisco lounge. The airline is planning to add new lounges in South Africa and Geneva which are due to open this year.

However, it is restricted to certain passengers. This includes:

  • British Airways Club Europe
  • British Airways Executive Club Gold and Silver cardholders travelling on BA
  • Oneworld, Emerald and Sapphire members travelling on BA.

It’s good to see the airline refresh and update its lounges (and there’s at least one lounge in the USA that needs ripping down and starting again).

Seeing the investment being delivered will be a welcome sight to BA passengers, who will traverse this airport.

Editors note: If this comes out a little less understandable than normal, please accept my apologies. Some long haul flights can be killer…
