SNAPSHOT: Candlewood Suites, Schiller Park for Chicago O’Hare

05/11/2019 by Kevincm

It’s time for another snapshot – this time focusing on the hotel experience at the Candlewood Suites in Schiller Park, near Chicago O’Hare.

For those of you who are new to the blog:

  • Trip Reports – These are full deep-dive reports taking you into the experience and the small things… as well as the big things!
  • Snapshots – These are bite-sized reviews that show you the basic product in some nice gentle headlines (and normally, only images shot on the phone)

Getting there

I used Uber and Lyft to get to the Hotel. The hotel offers a local shuttle and a shuttle back to O’Hare on request.

Check-in

Check-in was a quick process, with my documents checked and my card charged for the night and deposit.

a room with a wood floor and a black coucha long hallway with a cart

The room

a sign on a wall

The room is more a long stay studio, rather than a traditional hotel room. As such it has a microwave oven, countertop stove and dishwasher – as well as a bed, work table (without power outlets).

Amenities included decaffeinated coffee and popcorn.

The bathroom had some items that were individually packed, as well as bulk shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

The views

Issues encountered

None of note – other than there was a lot of upgrading work going on in the hotel.

Check out

Check out was handled with ease, with my invoice handed to me on my way out.

The hold charge vanished that day, whilst the room charge remained as expected.

The full review soon!
