It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more Airplane art.
This week resting at London Heathrow Airport is a Virgin Atlantic Airbus A350-1000 as it patiently waits its next long haul duty.
Virgin Atlantic currently have fleet of four Airbus A350-1000 (the longer length fuselage version of the A350), with a further eight to be delivered – rounding out a total of 12 frames. These are part of the evolving Virgin Atlantic long haul fleet made up Airbus A330-200, Airbus A330-300, Airbus A340-600, Boeing 747-400 and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
The A350-1000 will be used to phase out the older A340-600 aircraft, as well as make inroads to the Boeing 747-400 fleet replacement.
G-VLUX or “Red Velvet” was the first Airbus A350-1000 to join the Virgin Atlantic fleet, with the type rostered on the London the New York JFK route mostly at this time.
More airplane art next week!
