If you’ve ever wanted to live out your dreams on the Oregon Trail in real life, there will be a handy British Airways service to help out – with the airline launching a London Heathrow to Portland, Oregon service in Summer 2020.

Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ Director of Networks and Alliances said:
“Portland will be a fantastic addition to our route map. As a major technology and innovation hub the city is drawing ever-increasing numbers of international visitors. Since 2015 we’ve launched routes to Pittsburgh, Charleston, Nashville, New Orleans and San Jose, and this is key to our joint business strategy which is growing across North America. We’re confident the route will be warmly welcomed by both business and leisure travellers.”
Expanding out the Joint Business Agreement.
I swear I wrote something about Joint Business Agreements being more important than ever. Well, it seems it is important to BA and AA who will have r 27 direct services from London to the USA, with up to 86 services a day via the Joint Business Agreement the airline operates with American Airlines.
And the ability to cross-sell across platforms and share the risk is a tempting prospect.
At least there’s one advantage of taking this version of the Oregon Trail – there’s not much chance of this:
