The news that he was due to step down emerged from an internal announcement.

He will remain with the airline as an advisor after stepping down as CEO.

Tim has been with Emirates since 1985, taking the CEO role in 2003

No successor has been identified yet.

A time of change

Whilst the news was released internally, it has spread around the internet, with FlightGlobal and Bloomberg reporting him stepping down.

With him steering him through a period of growth, the rising challenge of Low-Cost Carriers as well as geopolitical situation, he will leave Emirates Airline in a very strong position.

As who takes over – this will be one to watch.
