It’s Sunday again, and it’s time for the last Airplane Art of the year.
We go back to Dublin Airport – and the day when I was kindly invited behind the scenes at the airport. On our tour around, I saw an Air Transat Airbus A310 arriving from Canada to the Irish Capital.
Air Transat currently have a fleet of six Airbus A310-300 aircraft in their long haul fleet, operating to destinations operated by the airline. These are in a two-class configuration with 12 Club Class Recliner seats and 232 economy class seats in a packed 3-3-3 configuration.
These aircraft will soon face their last flights with Air Transat, with the airline planning to withdraw them on the 27th April 2020.
The airline is currently replacing the A310 wide-bodied aircraft with narrow body Airbus A321LR aircraft – which are starting to overtake routes previously operated by the type. Air Transat also operate the Airbus A330-200 and Airbus A330-300 in its long haul operation, whilst it uses Airbus A321 and Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
There will be more Airplane Art… next year!
Photographers Notes:
- Camera: Canon EOS R
- Lens: Canon EF 24-105 f4 IS L Series
- Settings: 75mm, ISO250, 1/640 at f10. Minimal corrections applied as I’m liking unedited images.
- Shot from a speeding Dublin Airport Fire Department Passenger van on our way to see how the airport handles wildlife on the field… and how to scare them off.
