Singapore Airlines to cut its timetable through to May

18/02/2020 by Kevincm

It seems that the weakness in the demand in part thanks to  Covid-19 (or the Coronavirus), with the airline taking action.

The cuts will across the Singapore Airlines network, with various flights on various dates affected, starting from early 24th February in the case of Seoul, right through the 30th May in the case of London-Heathrow and Tokyo-Haneda.

The majority of the long-haul routes seem to be only hit by one or two cancellations, whilst regional routes have deeper cuts. The SilkAir network is hit too, with cancellations on their routes too

Routes affected include (from Singapore), split by Territory. Note, that this is not entire route cancellations, rather cancellations on affected dates.

A full list of cancellations, with the impacted dates, are listed on the Singapore Airlines site.

Whilst the list looks dramatic the airline is cherry-picking dated when demand is either thin or can be pushed elsewhere.

If you are hit, the airline should be in contact to re-book and re-schedule as required.

None the less, the Covid-19 is continuing to have an unwelcome impact on the aviation industry across the world as airlines try and pick up the pieces in operating commercially viable schedules (to the point where some airlines are back to playing Slot-sitting games…. again)

As usual, keep an eye on your bookings if you’re affected.
