Singapore Airlines extends network cuts

03/03/2020 by Kevincm

Singapore Airlines is continuing to make cuts in its network as weak demand continues to impact the airline due to COVID-19.

The newest cuts slice a total of 10.3% of available capacity and seats between February/March to the end of May 2020.

Affected routes are across both Singapore Airlines and SilkAir’s network. These changes are listed at https://www.singaporeair.com/saar5/pdf/media-centre/200303flightcanxtable02.pdf for the exact dates.

Expect more changes

In the release, Singapore Airlines states

“We will continue to monitor the situation, and be nimble and flexible in adjusting our capacity to match the changing demand patterns in the market.”

In other words – expect further cancellations, route consolidations and timetable changes.

Rebooking

Affected customers will be notified and re-accommodated onto other flights. If you booked your tickets through a travel agency, please contact your agent for assistance. If you booked your tickets directly with Singapore Airlines, please contact the SIA reservations team at (+65) 6223-8888

Finally…

Please follow World Health Organisation advice for keeping yourself safe during this outbreak.

You’ll need to check with Singapore Airlines directly. If you haven’t been notified of a cancellation as yet – assume your flight is running.
