Thai Airways is cutting is network up – like most airlines in the world. The main changes start from the 25th March, filtering through the 1st April, with cuts running through until 31st May.

As usual, Covid-19/Coronavirus/Human Malware is to blame, with countries going into lockdown and countries increasing screening, as passengers simply not flying at this time.
The following routes in the Asia region will be suspended from 25th March:
- Hong Kong
- Taipei
- Tokyo (Narita and Haneda), Osaka, Nagoya
- Seoul
- Phnom Penh
- Vientiane, Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi
- Yangon
- Singapore
- Jakarta, Denpasar
- Kunming, Xiamen, Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou
- Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad
- Kathmandu
- Dhaka
- Colombo
The following routes to Australia will be suspended from 27th March
- Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth
The following routes to Europe will be suspended from the 1st April
- London-Heathrow, Frankfurt, Paris CDG, Brussels, Copenhagen, Oslo, Moscow and Stockholm
The airline had previous suspended operations to the following
- Sendai, Sapporo, Fukuoka, Busan
- Manila
- Kuala Lumpur
- Rome, Milan, Vienna
- New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Muscat
- Dubai
- Auckland
Thai Smile will operate domestic segments to Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Krabi from 25th March
For passengers impacted, the airline is allowing those who hold tickets on Thai or Thai Smile tickets issued before 25 March 2020, to convert unused tickets to one-year valid travel voucher without fee and surcharges. For Asian Routes, this for tickets flying between 25 March and 31 May. For European, Australian and New Zealand Routes for tickets flying between 1 April and 31 May 2020.
Those who are travelling on award tickets via Royal Orchid Plus during 25 March – 31 May 2020 can re-credit mileages or change the travel date without any fee or charge, with expired miles extended until 30 September 2020.
In the meantime, the airline will operate a few routes, as well as its cargo arm and its charter operations – which are there if requested by government agencies.
