Emirates continues to its mini-ramp up of services to allow visitors and residents of certain countries to return home from Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.

The airline will operate limited services to
- Jakarta (Indonesia)
- Manilla (Philippines)
- Taipei (Taiwan)
- Chicago (United States of America)
- Tunis (Tunisia)
- Algiers (Algeria)
- Kabul (Afghanistan)
These are in addition to the services operated to London-Heathrow and Frankfurt.
Flights will operate from Dubai International Airport Terminal 3 – where all Emirates flights have moved back to.
If you need to travel, you can book directly on Emirates.com, or via a travel agent. Note, only citizens of the destination country and those who meet the entry requirements will be allowed to board.
Passengers are required to comply with each country’s requirement. In addition, Passengers will be required to follow all health and safety measures required by the UAE authorities and the country of destination. If you choose to fly, you will be asked to follow social distancing guidelines during your journey and wear masks when at the airport and on board the aircraft.
In terms of passenger experience, travellers should arrive at Dubai International Airport Terminal 3 for check-in, three hours before departure. Emirates’ check-in counters will only process passengers holding confirmed bookings to the above destinations.
Services are limited, with no online check-in or seat selection available. Premium services such as chauffeur drive and lounge will also not be available
The onboard service has been modified, with magazines and other print reading material removed. Food and beverages will continue to be offered onboard, however, the packaging and presentation will be modified to reduce contact during meal service and the risk of infection.
Another major change is that cabin baggage will not be accepted on these flights. Carry-on items allowed in the cabin will be limited to laptop, handbag, briefcase or baby items. All other items have to be checked in, and Emirates will add the cabin baggage allowance to customers’ check-in baggage allowance.
If you need go, now is the time
Whilst some air bridges are opening back up to passengers, it would be foolish to wait around to use them (as countries could impose stricter sanctions at any time). If you need to head home and can muster the funds together – take advantage of the flights.
Depending how COVID-19 plays out you may be in your destination for some time to come.
