Delta Air Lines introduce snack bags

18/04/2020 by Kevincm

Delta Air Lines has developed a new snack bag for these socially distant times… and it’s not too bad.

Let’s take a look.

These bags will be offered on US Domestic flights, in an effort to decrease the number of touch-points onboard an aircraft.

So, what goodies can you expert in it? The bag currently contains (subject to change):

  • Cheez-It crackers
  • Biscoff cookies
  • 8.5 oz Dasani bottled water
  • Hand sanitizing wipe
  • Cocktail napkin

In addition, the bag doubles as an individual rubbish bag once you’ve enjoyed the contents of it.

The bags will be given to customers during flight attendants’ first pass through the cabin on domestic services in all cabins

Mike Crowley, Delta’s Vice President – Onboard Service Operations said

“We want our customers and crewmembers to know we will always have their backs,”

“As this pandemic evolves, we continue to innovate our service and respond to crew and customer feedback, while maintaining our focus on providing the hospitality Delta is known for.”

As usual, you can bring your own food aboard and non-alcoholic drinks. Meanwhile, international passengers will receive a variation of the current in-flight service with means and a full beverage selection

Reducing the contact points whilst delivering service

As we continue to move through the pandemic, airlines are trying to reduce risks and contact points where possible – so that they can continue to operate, whilst having the crew to operate the flights. Onboard service – whilst a nicely, is part of the passenger experience – which on a “full service” airline is still expected.

There are ways this could be streamlined further – but providing a basic snack pack for all passengers is a good thing to see.

And one that reduces possible contact is even better.
