It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more airplane art.
This week, we have an Air Transat Airbus A310 departing Manchester Ringway Airport, as it begins the transatlantic crossing back to Canada.
Air Transat used to operate the type on its longer range services – however, these have been retired slightly earlier than expected due to COVID-19, as the airline has pivoted away from a 9-across wide-body aircraft to an Airbus A321LR instead to operate transatlantic services.
As well as the Airbus A321LR, Air Transat operates the Airbus A330-200 and A330-300 in its long haul fleet. The Canadian leisure airline also operates the normal A321ceo and the Boeing 737-800 on shorter-range operations.
This aircraft – C-GSAT had a varied career, starting with Emirates, then moving to Kenya Airways before ending up at Air Transat.
More Airplane Art next week!
