SAS is preparing for its network restart – like a lot of airlines, with a programme of both short and long-haul destinations.

With SAS citing more countries opening up their borders, the airline is going to open up a mixture of routes, including domestic flights within and between the Scandinavian countries, Europe and North America.
The planned resumption is as follows
From 1 June
- Stockholm – Skellefteå
From 2 June
- Copenhagen – Aarhus
From 8 June
- Copenhagen – Amsterdam
- Copenhagen – Bergen
- Copenhagen – Stavanger
- Stavanger – Aberdeen
- Stockholm – Helsinki
- Stockholm – Turku
- Stockholm – Malmö
- Stockholm – Kalmar
From 10 June
- Copenhagen – New York
- Copenhagen – Chicago
From 15 June
- Stockholm – Ängelholm
The airline is readying to scale up extra flights and destinations, working within regulatory frameworks and quarantines (as issued by different countries) are relaxed and demand for travel increases – with SAS hoping to recover some of the remains of the summer travel season.
The resumption of services will see SAS bringing 30 aircraft into operation – doubling the 15 currently in service.
Whilst this isn’t the biggest network restart that has happened – it’s a start to begin reconnecting Scandinavia to the world.
