It’s Sunday, so it must be time for some more Airplane Art.
This week, we have a Lufthansa Boeing 777F arriving after a long haul trip at its base of Frankfurt Airport, as it nears the runway of its home.
Lufthansa Cargo (as the name suggests) is the cargo carrying arm of Lufthansa Group. The airline operates nine Boeing 777F aircraft (the freighter version of the Boeing 777) and Six McDonnell Douglas MD-11F in its primary freighter fleet.
As well as the dedicated cargo aircraft, Lufthansa Cargo also has access to the belly-freight of the 350-strong Lufthansa passenger fleet.
This aircraft – D-ALFF (named “Konnichiwa Japan” is a relatively new aircraft, which joined the fleet in February 2019. It is powered by twin GE-90 engines to carry cargo around the world. Recent destinations it has served include Seoul, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Shanghai, Tel Aviv and Cairo.
More airplane art next week!
