We may be in the middle of a pandemic, but festivities are in the air with Qatar Airways going all in this year.
The airline will bring festive menus as well as decor and what it calls “heartwarming moments” both in the air and on the ground.

Passengers departing to and from Qatar Airways’ destinations in the U.S., Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and select destinations in Asia and Africa, will enjoy the airline’s festivities from 19 December until 26 December.

You’ll also get g a festive napkin band wrapped around the cutlery pack and a rich hot chocolate with marshmallows.
It doesn’t stop there – for those of you using the turndown service, there will be limited edition ‘Seasons Greetings’ message pillow too.
If you’re flying in Economy Class, you’ll be offered a seasonal menu that includes turkey chasseur, turmeric mashed potato with parsley as the main course, and Christmas pudding for dessert.
Whilst you won’t get festive pillows, you will get festive headrest covers.
The inflight entertainment system – Oryx One – will also have a collection of festive films loaded too.
Meanwhile, Hamad International Airport will have a few festive touches in the Al Mourjan Business Lounge for the very first time. There will seasonal decor, as well as treats from the buffet or select from the special digital à la carte menu.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said:
“This year has been incredibly challenging due to the ongoing pandemic. That is why this year we are investing more efforts than ever before into our festive activities on board and at HIA, to bring the joy back to flying. In the coming weeks, tens of thousands of passengers will travel with us for a vacation or to visit family and friends abroad and our aim is to continue to unite family and friends and make their journey even more memorable during this special time.”
PPE Requirements remain the same in the air though.
If you are planning to travel Qatar Airways during the festive season, they do have stricter PPE requirements than most airlines.
The airline’s onboard safety measures include the provision of Personal Protective Equipment for cabin crew and a complimentary protective kit and disposable face shields for passengers
But for now, there’s a little festive cheer in the air – something after a long year that will be very welcome.
