Emirates to send their Premium Economy equipped A380 to London – but good luck buying a seat…

03/01/2021 by Kevincm

Emirates confirmed it will be using its latest Airbus A380 equipped with Premium Economy seat on its Dubai to London Route.

Although – good luck buying a premium economy seat.

The aircraft will operate on as EK003/004 – scheduled to depart Dubai daily at 14:30hrs, arriving at 18:20hrs in London Heathrow. The return flight departs London at 20:20hrs and arrives in Dubai the next day at 07:20hrs.

As unveiled last week, the upgraded A380 will feature the new Premium Economy seats, which feature a 13.3″ in-flight entertainment screen, 40″ seat pitch and 19.5″ seat wide (based on the Recaro PL3530).

The aircraft will also feature upgrades across the aircraft, with new economy seating from the Boeing 777 fleet, enhancements to its first and Business Class including its signature Shower Spa and Onboard Lounge, and refreshed colours and fittings across all cabins.

However, good luck booking a premium economy seat

With one aircraft in its entire fleet configured with premium economy seating, inventory of the seat type is controlled and limited. The airline states

Until more Premium Economy seats enter its inventory, the airline intends to offer these as spot upgrades for its valued customers on a discretionary basis.

All other signature Emirates A380 First, Business and Economy cabins are available for reservation on emirates.com or via travel agents.

Bottom line: Unless you can charm your way in, spending lots of cash on economy class tickets, are a high-tier Skywards frequent flyer, or the flying gods are with you, you’ll have to cross your fingers to get into the cabin.

The UK continues to be a focus for Emirates

The UK continues to be a focus for Emirates, with the airline serving London Heathrow with five daily flights – four of which are operated with an Airbus A380. The airline also operates 10 flights a week to Manchester and daily flights to both Birmingham and Glasgow – a total of 54 flights between Dubai and the United Kingdom.

Emirates currently serves 99 cities across the world, offering travellers convenient access to Dubai and onwards to popular destinations in Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East (providing you are in a position to travel).
