As Singapore Airlines has sought to unify itself and SilkAir, the first Boeing 737-800 aircraft has come out of the paint shop in SIA colours, as well as the first route announced.

The Singaporean flag carrier will operate the first 737-800 to Phuket from4 March 2021 as the airline attempt to offer customers greater consistency in product and service across the Group’s premium network
Initially, nine Boeing 737-800 have be transferred from SilkAir to Singapore Airlines, allowing the airline to operate more routes within its network.

The next route to be converted from SilkAir to Singapore Airlines operation will be its route to Brunei in March 2021, with the full integration of SilkAir into Singapore Airlines is scheduled for completion in the 2021/22 financial year (April 2022).

In terms of passenger experience, the Singapore Airlines Boeing 737-800 will be configured in a two-class configuration, with 12 Business Class and 150 Economy Class seats.
There will also be enhanced food and beverage options (as we looked at here), and the KrisWorld in-flight entertainment via a web-based platform.

Boeing’s products and reputation are in tatters at the moment. With so many issues uncovered, not to mention their horrendous corporate culture, I would avoid flying their planes.
