Emirates prepares to restart flights FROM the UK

01/02/2021 by Kevincm

Emirates hastily pulled its operations to the UK on Friday with the recent direct travel ban announced. Well, it seems the airline is restarting services on the 2nd February, operating services from the United Kingdom to Dubai, but not carrying passengers from Dubai to London.

Instead, the outbound services from Dubai will operate as cargo operation.

Services are restarting from 2 February 2021.

The airline will operate flights from London Heathrow and Manchester to Dubai. All other services remain suspended at this time.

Check before you travel

Travel is restricted as you know, with limited travel reasons (business and medical purposes). According to HM Government, for those wishing to travel out of the UK you need to:

  • Declaring a reason for travel: anyone who does not have a valid reason for travel will be directed to return home and may face a fine. The reason for travel will be checked.
  • Increased police enforcement: there will be an increased police presence at ports and airports, fining those in breach of the stay at home regulations. Anyone without a valid reason for travel will be directed to return home and may face a fine.

If you are planning to leave the UK, you will need to meet the requirements of travel. In addition, you will need to ensure you can meet the entry requirements of your final destination (as well as any rules for transiting Dubai).

Note, that if you choose to travel, you may find that you may need to take another route back the U.K. that does not transit Dubai, the UAE or any of the red list of countries.
