Geven have been working away and have unveiled their new Economy Seat. Let us look at what is being offered.
The Geven SuperEco – Rendering Geven.
The SuperEco is designed for the high-density cabin, offering comfort, and living space, whilst reducing annoyances like weight, cost of ownership, in a simple and easy-to-maintain nature.
It is designed for narrow-body high-density application (think Airbus A320/Boeing 737 families).
The seat itself comes in a 7.9kg per passenger, offering what Geven call a “superior living space due to an unparalleled shin and knee clearance”.
Being a high-density seat – it is pitched at 28” (which will be interesting to see if it can deliver the legroom and shin/knee clearance that is promised). Geven say this has been achieved thanks s to the redesigned supporting structure.
Options for the SuperEco include connectivity options and Power /USB Integration, seat dress customisation, armrests and endbays are available.
The large meal tray, and armrests which can be folded up and laid flush with the backrest.
Interestingly, the manufacturer is offering a short lead time to delivery. For those refitting aircraft or having the seats on new aircraft – that could matter.

Alberto Veneruso managing director at Geven said.
“We are proud of our team work”
SuperEco’s impressive shin and knee clearance paired with its low weight and excellent reliability, sets an unparalleled benchmark in the aircraft seating industry.
With SuperEco, airlines will be able to offer maximum comfort and living space to passengers while contributing to green-sustainability efforts via reduced fuel consumption”,
The next steps
Geven is not resting, with them working on their next generation of products across the airplane seating product stack – these include economy, premium economy and business categories designed in partnership with PriestmanGoode.
Considering some of the partners they have worked with before and what they’ve delivered – there could be something very interesting in the future…
The proof will be in the sitting
As usual, the proof isn’t in renders we see today – rather it will be in the sitting in seats by passengers.
The application and target of the seats are the Low Cost Carriers and carriers who are more interested in density rather than space.
We’ve seen promises before of a comfortable 28″ seat (and there are some that start to fall into that category). However, it is easy to go too bare-bones on a seat.
It’ll be interesting to see these in person and see if they live up to Geven’s promises.
