Aeroflot receive their first A320 with new Recaro seats

09/06/2021 by Kevincm

Aeroflot recently took delivery of a new Airbus A320 – this time featuring nose-to-tail Recaro Aircraft Seats aboard the aircraft.

Two types of seats will feature on the aircraft – the CL4710 for business class passengers and the BL3710 for its economy class cabin. Recaro will provide more than 50 shipsets of the seat types to be integrated.

The first of Aeroflot’s new A320/A321 fleet took flight for the first time on May 25. Delivery of the aircraft includes a total of more than 10,000 Recaro seats and will continue through 2028.

In terms of seats, the CL4710 seat is designed for medium and short-haul flights for Business/Domestic First Class services.

It features a 21-inch seat width, with an oversized tray table, IFE system support and provides room to work when needed. It also offers power ports, an ergonomic backrest with a 5-inch recline, and adjustable calf-rest.

Moving down the cabin into Economy Class, the Recaro BL3710 is present. The seat features enhanced neck support, innovative tray table design and weighs less than 10 kilograms. The modular design of the economy class seat allows for maximum freedom in layout configuration and keeps operating costs low.

The economy seats feature leather dress covers and the business class seats are covered in fabric and leather for an enhanced comfort experience.

Compared to the display models…

The CL4710 has had some modifications, especially with the covers and dressing to give it a look that matches the airlines requirements

The CL4710 is a traditional mechanical recliner, which features a variety of storage compartments for personal belongings. It also has a leg rest, which can be adjusted in length and angle.

Meanwhile, the BL3710 – an evolution from the long-range CL3710, launched at AIX 2018 – which this blog covered in detail.

The seat is a lot more featured compared to the SL3710 that Aeroflot could have gone chosen and can offer a more than acceptable level of comfort for the longer segments that these aircraft may be called on to serve. Certainly, the Aeroflot dressing makes the difference. The seat can be pitched from 28″ upward, with more space being more optimal for longer flights.
