Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond (25th July)

24/07/2021 by Kevincm

It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.

From self isolation to enjoying a coffee out, whilst working… or trying to work at Caffe Nero, New Street, Birmingham

Travel Changes and Restrictions

  • UK List changes now *live* and Self-Isolation Changes for Fully Vaccinated UK Travellers – More layers and confusion. But hey. If you’re vaccinated, there’s a chance you can travel now.
  • Do I have to wear a mask on public transport in the UK? – Check before you travel. Some operators require face coverings to be worn. Others “recommend” it
  • British Airways introduces at hotspot map – A map to find out what possible restrictions you can encounter when travelling

New aircraft news

  •  Airbus delivers its first A350 assembled in China to China Eastern

Passenger Experience

  • Helvetic Airways to offer new catering options – All inclusive catering. On a short-to-medium haul route – it appears to be possible
  • Heathrow Airport to start its Terminal Drop-Off fees from October! – Get ready to pay £5 to be dropped off at a Heathrow Terminal forecourt

Sale!

  •  British Airways offers an Olympic flash sale – Ends today!

Pretty pictures

  •  Emirates Boeing 777-300ER on approach to Chicago O’Hare

Next Week

I’m busy getting a lot of the final parts of a Trip Report written (I’m a little out of touch of writing them after 10 months not writing one), so expect some writings over the next few days. On top of that, I’m going to cover my usual mix of passenger experience, new aircraft news – as well as keeping an eye on some of the UK travel changes.

Until then, stay safe, test often and be kind to one another as we head into one of the most interesting weeks ahead.
