Other changes of note
- Spain – It is highly advised to use a PCR test as opposed to a Lateral Flow/Antigen test pre-departure test as a precaution against the increased prevalence of the virus and variants in the country.
- Quarantine Hotel fees have increased from £1,750 to £2,285 per single adult traveller. These must be booked in advance before you depart to the United Kingdom.
Impact
With traffic open for the Middle East Three, there is already movement with Etihad reestablishing its traffic flows and Emirates relaunching its Glasgow service.
It also opens up those hubs for travel should people need to travel eastwards – providing they are allowed in.
For those ex-pats who want to return to the UK to see their loved ones, now could be time to visit – providing you were vaccinated in the UK. Otherwise… well, you enjoy 10 days in close contact with your loved one… don’t you?
