Geven and PriestmanGoode have unveiled their new seat – The Elemento economy seat.

The Elemento is the first model of the Next Generation family line and design elements by Geven, with input from PriestmanGoode.
The Elemento is part of the partnership’s project to create an entirely new line of next-generation seats, focused on innovative features that deliver enhanced passenger comfort and benefits, whilst allowing for maximum airline customization and easy configuration into different aircraft types.
The Elemento Economy class seat debuts with a host of features aimed at increasing passenger experience and comfort, whilst retaining a modular design that allows for easier installation and integration of the most varied latest generation monitors and PED holders as well as ease of integration into both wide and narrow-body aircraft.

The Elemento Economy seat can include the following features:
- An adjustable privacy headrest, to give passengers extra head support and comfort

- Integrated table lighting
- Bespoke woven dress covers featuring a pattern inspired by the Geven ‘V’, and/or airline personalized trim
- Enhanced comfort solutions (patented wave system)
- Adjustable PED Holders, designed to accommodate all possible variants of Personal Electronic Devicescarried onboard by passengers
- Cocktail table
The colour palette for this design was inspired by the Geven brand colours.
Currently, no customers for these seats have been announced.
Premium versions coming
Geven is developing the premium version of this seat, with the Premium, Premium+ and Business Class seats due to be unveiled during this year.

We work with airlines and airframe manufacturers all over the world, so we know what it takes to customize a seat, we know what clients and passengers want and how we can add unique touches to a standard product to make it stand out. What we’ve created with this collaboration is a distinct product for Geven that will allow their clients to adapt and customize it easily to their own requirements. We’re delighted to see the first seat revealed.”
Changing the design language
The launch of the new seat is interesting at this time, as airlines pull themselves out of the situation they’ve been in for the past 16 months and look towards the next 10 years.
With the lessons of the recent past in, there are some interesting touches such as the headrest, which could offer comfort and privacy to an airline’s passengers when travelling – however, this will be down to how an airline configures the seat.
With Geven focusing on mesh and lightweight seats (a trend in recent years to reduce the fuel bill), the comfort factor has yet to be tested in person. This is especially important on a more premium design that could be used on long haul routes – which is what this seat seems to be aimed for.
And that as we all know, is the real test of a seat.
