The year continues to move forward, as we head towards the last weeks of October. But it’s time for Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.

New Aircraft News

  • Lufthansa will name its first Boeing 787-9 “Berlin” – Although will the airline consider serving its capital with long haul services?

Routes and Networks

  • British Airways to codeshare with Kenya Airways – More connectivity for both passengers groups.
  • Virgin Atlantic prepares for its major November 8th Network Ramp-up – More routes open up as the US opens.

Passenger Experience

  • Austrian Airlines expands its Premium Economy offering – More Premium Economy seats for Austrian Airlines passengers.
  • Panasonic Avionics to provide IFE and connectivity for Air Belgium – IFE and Connectivity for Air Belgium’s new fleet.
  • easyJet to launch its own lounge service with No1 Lounges – Was easyLounge taken?

Trains

  • Hello SE Trains… operator of Southeastern – Not much changed on the outside, but a lot of changes up top.
  • Lumo commences operations on the East Coast Main Line – Lumo takes to the rails, in preparation for the start of service on Monday.

Hotel Check

  • Travelodge Wirral Eastham – A quick hotel check to see if Travelodge can do its thing.

Next week

We’re monitoring things with some of the recent changes announced. Also, we’ll be keeping an eye on airlines plans to serve the USA, as everyone prepares to make the great transatlantic return.
